What is a VIN?
VIN stands for "vehicle identification number." Each vehicle is given a unique VIN when it leaves the factory. The VIN is used to identify your vehicle and provides key information for the person performing the repair, like the year of manufacture.
To find your VIN, you can look in a few places, but the reality is that the VIN could be almost anywhere inside your vehicle. On most vehicles, the VIN is located either on the dashboard, inside the driver door panel, or in the engine compartment. You should refer to your owner's manual for instructions on how to locate your VIN. You may also find it on your vehicle registration card.
